Chanmari FC had played the match without a main striker while Dinthar FC had introduced a new formation and the first half was not very entertaining from the fans point of view. At the same time we can say that the players did not perform up to their potential.

The first chance of the match was presented to Dinthar FC when Samuel capitalized from a mistake by a Chanmari FC defender but his effort was not good enough to provide a goal. Chanmari FC left back Zomuanpuia did not have the best of games and Dinthar FC took much advantage from it. His mistake almost let Danmawia to score the opening goal.

Chanmari FC did not just sit back and they had created a chance when an attack was started from inside their own half and when the ball fell to Dawngtea, the striker took a surpise shot and Dinthar FC goalkeeper Zothanmawia was rooted to his spot. But the shot was not accurate enough and the score remains 0-0. Dinthar FC had the lion's share of possession and Zico had a few chances which he failed to convert. Chanmari FC Midfielder Hlutea had a shot on goal but it failed to make any impact. There were no clear chances for the two teams and the score remained goalless at half-time.

Chanmari FC made some changes in personnel in the second half by replacing Sawmtea with R. Malsawmtluanga (MS-a). Dinthar FC had to replace Tezawka through injury after a few minutes into the second half with Lalmuansanga (MS-a).

The second half was surely an improvement but neither of the team failed to play their usual game. The defenders of both the teams had a good game. Chanmari FC did well in attack from the middle of the park but they failed to attack from the side. Dinthar FC were dangerous when wingers Mawitea and Danmawia functions but the two wingers failed to shine in the new formation. At the same time Reuben did not have a good game and failed to play up to his potential from a defensive midfield position.

Dinthar FC made another change by replacing defender Ramnuna with KC-a who took the midfield position while Reuben moved back to defence. Samuel also made way for Zosangliana (Chhaia) and the substitutions immediately had an impact on the game but Dinthar FC could not created the goal scoring opportunity.

Chanmari FC introduced Lalnghinglova (MP-a) who is an utility player who was an important for Chanmari FC during the Playoff but he had not made much of an impact in the league so far. In an injury time, substitute MS-a found Dawngtea who continued to move in on goal to score a wonderful goal. The goal was definitely an important one in terms of results and points and the fact that the goal scorer was marked by three defenders. Chanmari FC got another goal when Lalnghinglova scored from near the halfway line . Dinthar FC goalkeeper T-Mawia might have to take the blame for the goal but it confirmed the result and the score was 2-0 at the end of 90 minutes.
